2 Grand

2 Grand are a singing duo who reached the Final of Series 3 of Britain's Got Talent. The duo consisted of John Neill and his granddaughter Sally Lax. The duo hailed from Doncaster. Sally was aged 12 at the time of their audition, whereas her grandfather John was aged 76 at the time of their audition.

John had been performing for over 50 years prior to his audition, and his biggest dream was to perform at the Royal Variety Performance. John had been married for 54 years, however his wife had passed away the year before the duo's audition, prompting him to speak to a photograph of his wife to request she give the duo good luck in order to get them through prior to their audition.

In their audition, they performed a rendition of 'A Whole New World' originally by Peabo Bryson from Aladdin. Their performance was buzzed by Simon. Piers described the duos connection as 'Natural charm', with Amanda adding her belief that she didn't believe it would be 'That good', however the duo surprised her.

In the Semi-Finals, they performed a rendition of 'Somewhere Out There' by James Ingram & Linda Ronstadt. Simon commented 'You have complete and utter sincerity the two of you', with Piers adding 'You kind of epitomise what this show is truly about, which is about family and family entertainment'. They reached the Judges Vote and received two votes from Simon & Amanda, whereas Piers voted for Callum Francis, therefore meaning that the duo had advanced onto the Final.

In the Final, they once again sang a rendition of 'A Whole New World' originally by Peabo Bryson from Aladdin. Simon commented 'Your one of those acts when will you just will you to do well', with Amanda adding 'I think we're just all in love with the pair of you and the fact you have such a fantastic relationship'. The duo concluded the Final in tenth place overall.

After BGT[]

Grandfather John Neil passed away in September 2014, 5 years after the duo competed on BGT.
