Beau Dermott is a singer who auditioned for Series 9 of Britain’s Got Talent & reached the Final of Series 10 of Britain's Got Talent. She was aged 12 at the time of her second audition and she received Amanda Holden's Golden Buzzer.
Series 9[]
Dermott first auditioned for Series 9 of Britain’s Got Talent. In her audition, she sang a song that was never disclosed. She was sent home during the audition stage of the competition with “no” votes from David, Alesha & Amanda (Simon wasn’t present for her initial audition).[1]
Series 10[]
Beau returned to audition for the show for a second time in Series 10. In her audition, she sang 'Defying Gravity' from the musical Wicked. Amanda commented that she was 'absolutely thrilled', whilst Simon added 'I was not expecting that'.
In the Semi-Finals, she performed 'Someone Like You' from the musical Jekyll and Hyde. Amanda remarked that she 'could not be more thrilled' for her, whilst Simon added 'it's not the fact that you're twelve and have an incredible voice; it's the fact that you've got an incredible voice'. She won the Public Vote and advanced immediately onto the Final.
In the Final, she again sang 'Defying Gravity'. David remarked 'you have really set the standard to beat tonight', whilst Alesha described Dermott's performance as having been a 'first class performance'. She ultimately placed fifth overall.
Her cousin Jack Higgins, a ballet dancer, also participated in Series 10.
