Beth Porch is a musician who made the Semi-Finals during Series 14 of Britain's Got Talent. She hails from Devon, however works in London.
Porch is a paediatric nurse, who works in a children's' ward. As a result of her guitar skills, she would go round her ward, playing for the children who were resident there. In July 2019, Porch went viral playing guitar and singing a McFly song to a child at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and subsequently appeared on Good Morning Britain, wherein she got the opportunity to meet the bands lead singer Danny Jones.
Backstage at BGT before her audition, she was seen having a conversation with comedian Claire Harrison-McCartney, who failed to impress the Judges with her impressions.
In her audition, she performed an original song, entitled 'You Taught Me What Love Is', a song about a parent losing their child. Despite not being a parent, the song was a result of her experiences with patients and their families. David remarked 'you've touched all our lives with that song', describing it as 'truly staggeringly beautiful'. Amanda added 'to have this talent is God-given, so you literally are an angel'.
After her audition, 'You Taught Me What Love Is' was released as a charity single for the Great Ormond Street Hospital and NHS Charities together, and reached #2 on the iTunes chart, with a significant lead over the songs below it. On the 24th April 2020, it entered the Official Singles Chart at #25, the first song by a Britain's Got Talent contestant to enter the Top 40 since The Neales in 2016.
In her Semi-Final performance, Porch performed another original song, entitled 'Everyday Heroes', which she wrote as a morale booster for her colleagues around the country. Alesha described her as 'a breath of fresh air', with David adding 'you have sung two original songs, and both have been absolutely beautiful and brilliant'.
