CJ Emmons

CJ Emmons is an American singer who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 18 of Britain's Got Talent. He was aged 43 at the time of his audition. He originated from Houston, Texas, however was residing in Los Angeles, California at the time of his audition. CJ has been working as a vocalist on the American iteration of 'Dancing with the Stars' since 2012. When asked why he was performing on the show, Emmons explained that Bruno inspired him.

Before his audition, Emmons explained that his babysitter told his mother he could sing when he was a child and his mother disbelieved the babysitter, however the babysitter put him in a talent competition to prove to his mother that he could sing and how the first song he ever sang was a Whitney Houston song. Emmons also explained that he had always wanted to be a singer and wanted to step out of the shadows of being a vocalist on a dancing competition.

In his audition, Emmons performed a rendition of 'I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston. Amanda remarked 'The way you started so softly almost like broken and built up to what you knew you could achieve was beautiful and spellbinding', with Alesha adding 'This is a god given talent that you have, thank you so much for coming on our show and sharing your gift with us'.

In the Semi-Finals, Emmons performed a rendition of ‘It's A Man's Man's Man's World' by James Brown. KSI remarked ‘You blew everyone away and [the audience] are telling me to give you the Golden Buzzer’, with Bruno adding ‘I am so proud of you, I always knew you had it [and] this proved it’. He placed 3rd in the Public Vote behind both Han & Fran & Binita Chetry.
