Chapter 13 are a child rock band who reached the Semi-Finals of Britain's Got Talent in Series 13. The band consists of Tom Abisgold who provides lead vocals and acts as guitarist, lead guitarist Jake Slack, bassist Jacob Swann & drummer Noah Keys. Before their audition, they revealed that they knew each other as a result of being in School of Rock together.
In their audition, they performed versions of 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours' and 'Sir Duke' by Stevie Wonder. Amanda pressed her Golden Buzzer for the group, stating that '[She didn't] think [she'd] ever seen four young musicians in a band, so together'. Simon meanwhile compared them to the band Busted.
In their Semi-Final performance, they performed an original song, entitled 'We Own This Town', which Tom Fletcher from the band McFly wrote alongside them. They began their performance on podiums, proceeding to jump around the stage throughout the act whilst playing their instruments. Amanda remarked that '[They’ve] got a huge fanbase' and that she 'Really [hoped] everyone [picked] up the phone for [them that night]', with Simon describing their performance as 'A million times better than the first audition'.
After BGT[]
In March 2019, the band featured upon Tom Fletcher from McFly's single entitled ''Don't Turn Out The Light', however this single failed commercially.[1] Within the same year they released singles entitled 'Forgotten Castaway', I H8 U', 'Reject', 'Please', 'Safety Pin', & 'DISTRACTION' as a part of their debut album entitled 'Songs For Generation Sex'.
On 10th August 2021, they released two singles entitled 'Harder To Explain' & 'Harder To Pretend', with both of these singles being released on this day in order to mark 'World Suicide Prevention Day'.[2] The latter song 'Harder To Pretend' documented the Mental Health of lead singer Tom Abisgold and all proceeds raised from the single were donated to Stem4 by Tom himself as they are the UK's leading charity for young people's mental health.[3]
