Cor Glanaethwy are a 162-piece Welsh Choir who finished third in Series 9 of Britain's Got Talent.
In the audition, three members of the choir entered the stage and introduced the act, before the rest of the choir entered to perform. They performed 'Benedictus', with each member of the choir holding a lit candle. David compared their performance to 'Being welcomed into heaven', with Amanda adding 'It was absolutely stunning and I just think how wonderful it is that your all going through this together on that stage'.
In the Semi-Finals, they performed 'The Prayer', with different sections of the choir entering the piece at different times. Alesha described their performance as 'Heart wrenching', with Simon adding 'That version it was unique, it was powerful [and] it was emotional'. They won the Public Vote and advanced immediately onto the Final.
In the Final, they performed a rendition of 'Hallelujah' in Welsh. Amanda remarked 'This would be the perfect thing at the Royal Variety', with Simon adding 'I think we're looking at the winners of [BGT], because every single one of you has given it 100% from the minute we met you'. They finished 3rd out of 12 contestants, behind dog act Jules O'Dwyer and Matisse and magician Jamie Raven.

In 2008, the choir competed on ‘Last Choir Standing’ ultimately placing second overall, losing out to Only Men Aloud. They have won numerous awards in their native hometown of Wales.
After BGT[]
In 2017, the choir made the news, when they partook in a surprise performance at Manchester's Arndale Shopping Centre as part of St. David's Day celebrations.
In May 2022, the choir performed on an episode of ‘Songs of Praise’.
