Dario the Dinasaur

Dario Grappegia (Otherwise known as Dario the Dinosaur) is an alternative act who made the Semi-Finals during Series 14 of Britain's Got Talent. Dario himself is aged 37, whereas the ages of his backing dancers were never disclosed.

The act consisted of four members - one 'singer' dressed as a T-Rex attached to a vocoder and playing a keyboard, and three backing dancers; one dressed as a caveman, one dressed as a robot and one dressed as the Egyptian god Anubis.

In their audition they performed to 'Party Rock Anthem' by LMFAO, after which Simon described the act as 'what the world has been waiting for'. Amanda was not impressed, joking 'it’s nice to see someone on stage who’s older than me, but it’s a no'. The other three judges however said 'yes', advancing the act through to the next round.

In the Semi-Finals, Dario entered the stage to the 'Jurassic Park Theme' by John Williams, before performing 'Love Is Gone' by Chris Willis & David Guetta, whilst several backing dancers dressed in prehistoric attire performed alongside him. Both Alesha & David buzzed his performance. David described the performance as probably one of the worst acts that the judges had 'ever seen in a Semi-Final', with Amanda adding that she 'probably should have buzzed', however was interested to see if Dario's performance would 'go anywhere'.

Before BGT[]

Dario had previously auditioned for Italy's Got Talent in it's sixth Series in 2015, however he failed to reach the Semi-Finals.[1]
