Denise & Stefan are a singer and pianist duo who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 17 of Britain's Got Talent. Denise was aged 40 and Stefan was aged 52 at the time of the duo's audition. When asked why they went on the show, Denise stated that as performers the last few years hadn't been fun due to the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic and when everyone got back into work she was diagnosed with breast cancer which had since gone into remission.
The pair were both involved in an awards ceremony where Denise presented the awards and Stefan played the piano, however the pair met on the Tube Train on the way there and Denise didn't realise at the time that the man on the train was the same man who was playing that evening. The duo have both been blind throughout their lives.
In their audition, Denise sang 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain' from The Sound of Music as Stefan played the piano. Simon commented 'Without people like you, this show is nothing and it's true [and] your whole attitude is actually quite unbelievable', with Bruno adding 'I have learnt something today about your positive state of mind and the ability to have sense of humour about yourself [and] we all need to know that'.
In the Semi-Finals, Denise sang ‘You Will Never Walk Alone’ by Gerry and the Pacemakers as Stefan played the piano. Alesha commented ‘That vocal was brilliant and the piano was stunning’, with Amanda adding ‘You absolutely bought the house down [and] it was very emotional’. They reached the Judges Vote, however failed to reach the Final with but one vote from Bruno as Alesha, Amanda and Simon all voted for Trixy.
