Duncan Murray is an extreme pogo stick performer who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 17 of Britain's Got Talent. He was aged 22 and was a student at the time of his audition. He hailed from New Brunswick, Canada. When asked why he came on the show, Murray responded 'I mean look around, this is a huge stage [and] this has got to be the biggest', before adding how he aspired to perform at concerts with music artists in Las Vegas if he were to win the competition. He is a member of extreme pogo sticking group Xpogo Stunt Team.
In his audition, Murray performed a series of stunts on his pogo stick such as letting go mid air and then grabbing hold of it again and performing flips both on the stage and in front of the judges desk before inviting Ant & Dec on stage and pogoing over the pair with his routine having been set to 'Jump Around' by House of Pain. Simon remarked 'That is what I call taking your two minutes and making it a moment', with Alesha jokingly adding 'I loved that you bought Ant & Dec in, I was a bit worried about Ant [but] not so much Dec’.
In the Semi-Finals, he initially jumped over several blocks and Minis in a pre-recorded section outdoors before pogoing indoors alongside two other pogo performers named Harry and Brandon who performed tricks alongside him with this performance having been set to ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ by Galantis. This performance was more limited in scope to his audition as he broke his wrist at the beginning of April and for safety reasons made the decision to dial his performance back a notch considering how he had only just removed his cast the previous week. Amanda remarked ‘The danger factor was fantastic, it’s your fearlessness I think and the way you’ve made this whole thing so fun’, with Bruno adding ‘You were everywhere [and] we were terrified you were going to crash on us’.
