Ella Shaw is a singer and a pianist who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 9 of Britain's Got Talent. She was eighteen years old at the time of her audition. She has her own YouTube channel.
In her audition, Shaw sang an original song entitled Summertime, whilst playing the piano. Alesha commented 'I love your voice, it was a very subtle, intimate performance', with Simon adding his belief that she was 'Mega talented'.
In the Semi-Finals, Shaw performed 'Everybody's Free' by Rozalla. David remarked 'It was actually rather cool and edgy I thought, two things that [the judges] barely ever see on [BGT]', with Amanda adding how she 'Loved [Ella's] interpretation [of the song]'.
Before BGT[]
She had competed on The X Factor the previous year yet had her appearance untelevised. She made it through the X Factor auditions in 2014, yet was sent home during the Six Chair Challenge by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini which Ella stated was something that 'Mel B wasn't very happy with'.[1][2]
After BGT[]
A year later, in 2017 Shaw released the song 'Safe Drive Stay Alive' on Digital Download services and upon her YouTube channel in support of Greater Manchester's Safe Drive campaign which aimed to raise awareness of road safety for young drivers. In the same year she released three more songs upon her YouTube channel entitled Which Way To Go, It Was You, and Out of The Shadows. Additionally in 2017 Shaw went on to perform at several small festivals such as the 'GBFood Festival' & Blackpool's 'Lightpool Festival' and supported Peter Andre at a performance in Milton Keynes.
In January 2018 Shaw opened her Academy Of Arts known as 'Ella Shaw's Academy Of Arts' which is located in Clitheroe, Lancashire. In late 2018 Shaw was a guest performer at the Blackpool Christmas Light Switch On. In 2019 the Academy of Arts reached the Ribble Valley Business Awards as a finalist in the Creative Business of the Year competition.[3]
In August 2021 Shaw supported the band BoyzLife at Wolverhampton's 'Relight Festival'.[4]
In 2023, Shaw competed upon 'Got Talent All-Stars' which is the Spanish equivalent of 'The Champions', wherein she was eliminated in the preliminaries.
