Eric Chien is a magician from Taiwan who competed on and won The Ultimate Magician. Chien had previously won Asia's Got Talent in April 2019, before competing on America's Got Talent and reaching the Semi-Finals later in the same year. Between 2019 and 2020 he toured with The Illusionists under the nickname 'The Manipulator'. In 2021, he performed on 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' where he successfully fooled the duo. In 2022, he reached the Final of China's Got Talent and appeared as a guest performer on Indonesia's Got Talent.
In his performance, Chien opened a box to reveal a piece of ribbon and two plastic frames, before placing a red deck of cards on the left side and the blue deck of cards on the right side and the ribbon between the middle of the table which saw the colour of his vest change to match this. He then turned over the cards on different sides which saw them change colour and be half of both colours when placed in the middle, before the right side became transparent after the last card was taken off of the rectangular frame and the cards seemingly disappeared. He then placed one card in the middle and broke it down to a fragment before throwing several blue cards onto the right side and producing several coins from them and removing the ribbon to show this, before then placing the coins in the box and opening it to reveal it were actually empty. Amanda remarked ‘You are a monster in the magic world’, with Penn adding ‘Those hands they are the best I’ve seen [for conducting magic]’. He won the studio audience vote and won £50,000 whilst also being crowned The Ultimate Magician.
