Hannah ‘Han’ Roberts & Fran Cottington are a singing duo who placed 9th in Series 18 of Britain's Got Talent. The duo hailed from Llandudno, North Wales and aimed to be the first Welsh winners of the show. The duo were aged 35 and 36 at the time of their audition and both worked in an office doing administrative work.
Before their performance, Fran explained that the duo were best friends and singing bought them together and made them soul sisters.
In their audition, the duo sang an ABBA medley including 'Take A Chance On Me', 'Dancing Queen' and 'Mamma Mia'. Amanda remarked 'That was brilliant [and] honestly so much fun', with Simon adding 'I didn't love the vocals, however I've learnt the only people's opinion whose matters is not us, it's the [studio audience’s opinion]'.
In the Semi-Finals, the duo sang an ABBA medley including ‘One of Us’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Voulez-Vous’ and ‘Thank You for the Music’ whilst accompanied by several backing dancers. Alesha remarked ‘You’ve definitely definitely upped your game from the auditions ladies’, with KSI adding ‘I think I just missed the ABBA phase, but I thought your vocals were great’. They reached the Top 3 in the Public Vote and placed 2nd, above CJ Emmons but below Binita Chetry, however they were later re-instated as the Wildcard.
In the Final, the duo sang an ABBA medley including ‘Take A Chance On Me’, ‘Does Your Mother Know’ and ‘Mamma Mia’ whilst accompanied by several backing dancers. Bruno remarked ‘Your voices are actually fantastic [and] your harmonies were divine’, with Amanda adding ‘This is one of my favourite acts of all time on [BGT] as I’m a huge ABBA fan’.
