Henry Gallagher

Henry Gallagher is a singer who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 9 of Britain's Got Talent. He hailed from Wigan and was aged 12 at the time of his audition.

In his audition, Gallagher sang a song called 'Lightning', which was about a girl that he was scared to ask out. David commented 'She's gonna have to go out with [him] now', with Alesha adding 'I think [the song] could be a massive hit for you’.

In the Semi-Finals, Gallagher performed the same song, however there were backing dancers alongside him. Alesha commented that she hoped 'This [was] the start of great things for [him]', however Amanda added that she would 'Quite like to hear [him] sing something else as well'. He advanced onto the judge’s vote, where he received one vote from David whilst the others voted for Entity Allstars. In the public wildcard Vote, he placed 2nd therefore eliminating him once again.

After BGT[]

In 2018, both Henry and his mother Marie Gallagher competed on the third series of the CBBC talent show ‘Got What It Takes?’. His mother was one of the judges and Henry reached the Final before losing out to Rio Donkin and therefore missed out on the prize to perform at Radio 1s Big Weekend in Swansea.[1]

Trivia[]

  • He received 4.4% less votes in comparison to Cor Glanaethwy, as he received 17.5% of the Public Vote, whereas they received 21.9% of the Public Vote.
  • Had he received a second vote from any Judge and sent the vote to deadlock, he would have advanced onto the Final as the voting figures from the Semi-Final show he received 17.5% of the Public Vote, whereas Entity Allstars received 12.8% of the Public Vote which is 4.7% less votes in comparison to him. Additionally this is the only case where the 3rd placed act from the Public Vote won the Judges Vote and advanced onto the Final and the 2nd placed act from the Public Vote lost the Judges Vote and therefore missed out on the Final in Series 9.[2]
