When asked his name by Amanda he joked it were 'Joseph Jose Manuel Howardo', before Amanda asked if he was christened with that name, before he stated he was from Yorkshire, in Barnsley really.
To begin his audition he stated he would be doing Origami, before then going on to tear apart a Newspaper and create Origami which he placed beneath the Mic located on the stage, remarking that it were wobbling. Howard then removed his jacket before going on to play the Drums, before he was buzzed off. David commented 'I like you Joey, but I don't think it was your night to night', with Amanda adding 'I appreciate that audiences absolutely love you, because you are really likeable and very funny, but it just doesn't feel fresh enough for the Royal Variety at the moment'. He was sent home during the audition stage of the competition as he remarked 'Back to the clubs then'.
In an interview conducted with The Sun on Tuesday 10th May 2022, Howard's agent Lynda Harrison went on to claim that producers for the show had invited him to audition for the show almost two years prior to his audition. She also claimed that Howard had actually never seen BGT before, but after his audition aired he wished he had done so.[1]
His audition was televised before the second audition of Ben Nickless in order to provide a contrast between his comedy which the judges did not enjoy, and Nickless' comedy mixed with impressions which the judges did enjoy.
