Josh Curnow is a singer and pianist who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 10 of Britain's Got Talent. He hails from Cornwall, and was aged twenty six at the time of his audition. Before his performance, Curnow stated that he was diagnosed with Dyslexia when he were in high school, and his teacher took him to one side and suggested that he should try and stop being a musician and start aiming for working in a superstore stacking shelves.
As he introduced himself before he began his performance Alesha asked Josh if he had brought anyone with him to support him. Josh replied that he had brought his girlfriend to support him, which then saw David jokingly press his buzzer before the audition had even began. Not long after David jokingly expressed jealousy towards Josh's girlfriend, his buzzing was retracted.
In his audition, Curnow played the piano and sang 'Basket Case' by Green Day. David remarked 'There's something really charming and likeable about you and that's just something you can't fondle', with Simon adding 'You've got a fantastic personality, you look great, your very charming and you really have got a great voice'.
In the Semi-Finals, Curnow played the piano and sang 'Runnin (Lose It All)' by Naughty Boy featuring Beyonce & Arrow Benjamin, as his face were displayed on the electronic screen at the back of the stage. Amanda remarked 'I feel like I'm watching somebody who's already established', with Alesha adding 'I love that grovel in your voice, super strong, honestly the whole [performance] from start to finish was beautiful'.
Before BGT[]
At 18, Josh worked full time behind a bar where he would often entertain the likes of WW2 vets and fellow folk that would come in on a Thursday for there “pensioners lunch”. After a birthday party was nearly ruined on Josh’s shift due to the entertainment pulling out, Josh found some one else to pull the pints while he picked up his guitar and pulled off a gig that would go onto to change his life.
Outside of Britain's Got Talent he has played gigs such as Glastonbury Festival, the British Grand Prix, toured some of California whilst playing at Calvary Chapple Costa Masa and played gigs in the South of France.
Josh has supported such artist as Tom Walker, Scouting For Girls, Blue, Matt Cardle, Atomic Kitten, KT Tunstall and many more.
After BGT[]
In March 2020 Josh was invited out to play 8 gigs in California. As a born again Christian, Josh played several faith led concerts at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, also known as “The Home Of Worship” where he teamed up with a band to bring an electrifying performance and share the stage with guest speaker and American baseball legend “Darryl Strawberry”.
