Martin Daniels

Martin Daniels is a magician who participated in Series 14 of Britain's Got Talent. He is the son of late magician Paul Daniels, and the cousin of fellow magician James Phelan.[1]

Before his audition, he stated that he was 'spurred on' to perform as a result of his son having a kidney transplant. After his audition, David was said to have remarked '[Paul's] genes have passed on to you, I feel, in a really big way'. Daniels' audition was not aired, however he was seen upon a card that the judges used whilst deliberating, therefore meaning he advanced onto the second round, however he failed to reach the Semi-Finals.

Before BGT[]

Martin used to regularly appear upon TV Shows that his father Paul hosted.

He later went on to present two series of 'Game for a Laugh' and the first two Series of 'Lingo' between 1987 & 1988, however he did not return to present the latter show's 2021 revival instead being replaced by comedian & actor Adil Ray.

He also appeared in five series of 'The Les Dennis Laughter Show'. Daniels previously performed five times on the 'Children's Royal Variety Show' and is a member of the 'Grand Order of Water Rats' which is both the oldest & most exclusive theatrical fraternity within the world.

In 1989 Daniels' opened a club in the United States, however four years later he was declared bankrupt.

He later began working in radio and has presented a show for BBC Radio Lincolnshire for several years, as well as performed in pantomime, and performing magic on stage.

In August 2011, both Martin and his father Paul appeared on the 1st series of ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us’, yet failed to fool the duo.

His cousin James had previously auditioned for Series 10 of Britain's Got Talent however like Martin his audition was Untelevised and he was eliminated in the following round.
