Michael McIntyre is a comedian who was a judge in Series 5 of Britain's Got Talent. He joined the show alongside David Hasselhoff as replacements for Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell, however the latter returned for the Semi-Finals of the same series, completing a four-judge line-up which has been the standard ever since.
McIntyre left the show after just one series, stating that the show was 'too much of a departure' from his comedic career, and that he would 'rather people just thought of [him] as a stand-up comedian'. His decision to leave came at the same time as the news that Hasselhoff had been fired from the show, and the pair were replaced by singer Alesha Dixon and comedian David Walliams.[1]
