Musa Motha

Musa Motha is a dancer who reached the Final and placed 5th in Series 16 of Britain's Got Talent. He was born in Sebokeng, South Africa, however currently lives in London. He was aged 27 at the time of his audition. When asked how long he spent preparing for his performance, Motha responded 'Since, I think forever'.

He had previously had his leg amputated as a result of developing cancer, which prevented him from continuing being a football player as he was prior to his amputation before falling in love with music and having his friends teach him how to dance.

Motha was the last act to audition in the series. In his audition, Motha performed a routine to 'Runnin' (Lose It All)' by Naughty Boy. Alesha commented '[I] have so much admiration for you [and] everything you've been through [and] your clearly somebody, no matter what their mind to they can achieve'. After his performance, the audience called for a Golden Buzzer to be pressed, despite all Golden Buzzers having already been used. In response, all four Judges pressed the buzzer together, sending him directly through to the Semi-Finals.

In the Semi-Finals, Motha performed a routine to 'Where We Come Alive' by Ruelle, initially performing alone on one crutch, before being accompanied by backing dancers and culminating his performance by performing alone on both crutches. Amanda remarked 'That was so epic and I'm so proud of you', with Bruno adding 'You remind us we can do anything if we put our heart to it [and] you are an inspiration to us all'. He won the Public Vote and advanced directly onto the Final.

In the Final, Motha performed a routine to ‘Find Me’ by Sigma featuring Birdy, initially performing alone and on one crutch before being accompanied by several backing dancers. Simon remarked ‘You really will make a difference in so many ways’, with Alesha adding ‘I feel so emotional watching you, I’ve never seen anything so beautiful and you make us feel like we can do anything’.

After BGT[]

In December 2023, both Motha & Lilliana Clifton performed a routine to ‘Dancing Is Healing’ by Charlotte Plank, Rudimental and Vibe Chemistry on 'The National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash' which was hosted by Jason Manford and BGT Judge Alesha Dixon.

In 2024, Motha competed on ‘America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League’, where he was drafted onto Simon’s Team and advanced onto the Semi-Finals instead of Travis Japan. In the Semi-Finals, he gained Simon’s Golden Buzzer therefore he advanced directly onto the Final. He finished in 5th place overall after performing to “You Are The Reason” performed by fellow BGT alum Calum Scott.
