Ned Woodman

Ned Woodman is a comedian who reached the Final of Series 11 of Britain's Got Talent. He was aged 8 at the time of his audition. Before his audition, he stated that making it through the audition would be 'smiley face times a million'.

He began with his first joke - 'Why are people so excited about that talking dog on Britain's Got Talent, Amanda Holden's been on it for years!' - He then made jokes criticising Ant and Dec's lack of humour, Alesha's dancing, Simon's dress sense and David Walliams' comments on the show. Alesha said that she 'loved [him] the minute [he] walked out on stage, whilst Simon added 'You're very cheeky and that's why I like you'.

He began his Semi-Final performance by explaining that after his audition, he got comments about his jokes being 'rude', before revealing a '101 Jokes for Kids' book, which he then described as 'lame' and jokingly asked if it were written by David. He then made jokes about Alesha's laugh, Simon's teeth, wanting his grandad's money, the judging panel & Ant & Dec's OBE's. He finished his performance by saying 'Some of you may be asking how my parents let me say rude jokes like this. But what you really should be asking is how I began this audition in a grey jacket, and ended in camouflage t-shirt', a joke referring to a trick performed by magicians DNA. David remarked 'you’re like a cute kitten that you stroke, and as soon as you do it bites you', with Alesha adding 'I think you are a star of the future'.

In his Final performance, he explained that he was going to do some magic, stating 'For my first trick I’m going to make the Judges’ smiles disappear - Oh wait, I already did that by getting through to the Final!' He then made jokes about Ant & Dec, Sharon Osbourne, and Gary Barlow, describing him as a 'singing robot'. He then spoke about Prince Philip retiring, stating 'Who’s going to travel the world offending people now?' David remarked 'I think you did fantastically well tonight', with Alesha adding 'you are trouble and I love it, make sure to keep up!.

Criticism[]

  • He was heavily criticised by the public, as a controversy drew of how rude his jokes were. The controversy particularly stemmed around his first audition joke, where he practically, however jokingly called judge Amanda Holden a dog.
