Only-Boys-Allowed

Only Boys Aloud are a thirty two piece Welsh choir, who finished third in Series 6 of Britain's Got Talent. They hailed from the Welsh Valleys and believed passionately in the tradition of Welsh male singing and wanted to ensure the tradition remained in Wales in a hundred years time. They were students aged between 14 & 19 at the time of their audition.

In their audition two members entered the stage alongside the choirmaster. The two members then began to perform 'Calon Lan' under the direction of the choirmaster, however midway through their performance the remainder of the choir walked onto the stage having been waiting backstage until this moment. Amanda commented that the choir had brought a 'lump to [her] throat and a tear to [her] eye', with Simon remarking that he had a 'very, very good feeling about you lot'.

They were the closing act of their Semi-Final. In the Semi-Finals they performed 'Gwahoddiad', as the stage gradually lit up and showed each members face as they sang. David remarked 'Who'd have thought that singing Welsh hymns could be so powerful', with Alesha adding 'I really appreciate that you stuck to your roots and did something traditional tonight'. They reached the Final after a tied Judges Vote reverted back to the Public Vote wherein they placed 2nd.

In the Final, they once again performed 'Calon Lan', with but one member singing to begin their performance, before the remainder walked from the sides of the stage onto the stage and sang alongside him. David remarked 'After [tonight's] performance, I really think you can [win]', with Amanda adding 'This is the kind of act that should open the Olympics'. Following their performance, the choir ultimately concluded the Final in third place behind both Ashleigh and Pudsey & Jonathan and Charlotte.

After BGT[]

Only Boys Aloud released their self-titled album in November 2012; this failed to chart, however 'Only Boys Aloud - The Christmas Edition', released in December 2012, reached #32 in the Official Albums Chart. They released their second album, 'A New Generation', in 2018.

They joined forces with Only Men Aloud to perform on the latter's final night of their tour at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff. In August 2012 the choir performed and revealed that they had signed a record deal with Relentless Records-Sony Music at The National Eisteddfod of Ebbw Vale.

They later teamed up with the runner up of Series 6 of Britain's Got Talent Jonathan and Charlotte to release a track titled The Promise. The choir appeared on This Morning, Songs of Praise, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Christmas Specials, All Star Christmas Presents, Stepping Out with Katherine Jenkins, and as guest performers during The X Factor final in 2012. Ryan Howell, one of the choir members died from bone cancer in 2015.
