Series 1 of Britain's Got Talent was held in 2007. The Judges were Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, and the hosts were Ant & Dec. It was won by opera singer Paul Potts. This was the shortest semi final set and number of acts ever in the shows history with but 24 acts, although originally before two criminal controversies 26 acts were slated for the semi final week. The numbers went up to 5 weeknights and 40 acts later on, however series 9 was an exception with 45 acts. This was the first and only ever series to contain a total of five weeks of auditions. The first ever series also did not display ages or hometowns, this feature was added in series 2, and continued from series 2 to the present day televised broadcasts.
