A picture from the trailer for Series 14

Series 14 of Britain's Got Talent was aired in 2020, with the first episode being shown on Saturday 11th April. Ant & Dec returned as presenters, with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams returning on the Judging panel. Britain's Got More Talent did not return, which meant that for the first time ever Stephen Mulhern did not return, however Ant & Dec began hosting a new show, BGT Unseen, which aired exclusively on the ITV Hub.

The airing of the show clashed with the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020. The decision was made to air the auditions as usual as they had been recorded in January and February, and to postpone the Semi-Finals until the lockdown had been lifted. The Semi-Finals and the Final occurred between September & October of the same year. The show gained it's first ever Golden Buzzer win in the form of Jon Courtenay. This was the first Series of the main show (discounting The Champions (Series 1)) to lack a wildcard since Series 5 therefore but 10 acts competed in the Final, however this could have been done as a precaution due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Similarly to the first four Series the winner of a Public Vote advanced onto the Final, however this time the Judges chose three acts and casted their vote for which of them were the best of the three in order to instantly advance onto the Final, following this the remaining two of the top three were eligible for the Public Vote alongside the other five acts who were in the Public Vote, however this time the vote remained open for a week per Semi-Final and every Public Vote winner from the previous five Semi-Finals were announced at the beginning of the Final. Alongside this the show also became the most complained about show within the last decade, with the vast majority of these complaints stemming around Diversity's BLM routine, when they performed as guest performers during the first Semi-Final of the Series.
