Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass are a magic duo from Vienna, Austria who competed on The Ultimate Magician. The duo had previously competed on ITV's 'The Next Great Magician' and failed to reach the Final in 2016, before going on to place as Runners-Up in the eleventh season of America's Got Talent in the same year.[1] In 2019, they competed on the first season of 'America's Got Talent: The Champions', where they were eliminated following their preliminary round performance, yet they returned to the finale as guest performers. The duo now tour the world with their own act and appeared in the show The Illusionists: Turn of the Century on Broadway. In 2021, the duo performed a Las Vegas Residency as a part of America's Got Talent Live. In October 2022, the pair got married.
In their performance, Thommy had Amelie blindfolded on stage before heading towards the judges desk, giving Penn an envelope and showing the judges postcards about the United Kingdom and giving every judge but Penn the chance to choose one before Amelie guessed everything that they chose whilst blindfolded. Thommy then showed a QR code of the duo's latest Instagram story before leaving Las Vegas wherein they mentioned Stonehenge and fish and chips and Amelie’s shirt had an image of Ed Sheeran on the back. He then had Amelie enter a water tank before Thommy had Penn borrow a note of cash from an audience member. Thommy then had Amelie use her lipstick to write down the serial number off of the back of the note with help from Penn who confirmed what she wrote to have been correct. Penn remarked ‘I’ve never seen anyone do mentalism under water before’, with Alesha adding ‘We’ve seen this sort of thing so many times but you guys found a fresh spin’.
