Vox Fortura (originally Vox Fortis) are an operatic group who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 10 of Britain's Got Talent. They hailed from both London and the United States Of America. The group consisted of Thomas Goodridge, Rodney Earl-Clarke, Julias Williams, Elias Hendricks, and Cameron Jones (Who left before the Semi-Finals). They were aged between twenty nine and thirty seven at the time of their audition. They also have their own YouTube channel named Vox Fortura.
In their audition, they sang 'Enigma Variations' by Sir Edward Elgar. Alesha remarked 'Your stage presence is so powerful, I feel like you just knocked me out with your vocals, you've really made your mark', with Simon adding that he liked them as they 'Subtly made [their] performance get bigger and bigger and [they] had that confidence in [them] and [they had] good voices, and now [they] got to bring out their natural personalities'.
In the Semi-Finals, they sang an operatic rendition of 'Heroes' by David Bowie, with a crystal like background behind them as they performed. David remarked 'The incredible power and depth of your voices, if I was Simon Cowell... I'd make you sign a record contract right now', with Amanda adding 'It was absolutely everything that this show is all about'.
After BGT[]
In November 2016, the group released a single entitled 'Lament' on ITunes in order to mark Remembrance Day, yet this was a commercial failure despite the group having performed it at the Royal British Legion’s Silence in the Square event in Trafalgar Square and all proceeds going to the charity Legion. Since competing on BGT, the group have toured with vocal quartet G4 and performed on cruises to Australia & Hawaii.[1]
In 2017, Rodney revealed his intention to quit the quartet to Express, thus making the group a trio due to a change in the group's direction which made Rodney feels as if he could no longer be a member.[2]
